Did you know that at this very moment we are responsible before God for the decisions we make? God calls us to accountability for how we choose to live our life. For every person has been born with the knowledge of God. “…men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power. So they will have no excuse when they stand before God at Judgement Day.” Romans 1:20
Could it be that one of the greatest sins of all is not taking personal responsibility? In Galatians chapter five we learn that if an individual sows to please himself and his own wrong desires he will reap the consequences of moral and spiritual death. Everyone who comes to the Almighty God can through Jesus Christ experience complete deliverance from destructive patterns. As we turn in submission to the enabling help of God’s Spirit we are rewarded for our good choices.
We have profound responsibility as human beings to believe what is true. Romans 1:25 says, “Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies.” It is God’s word that teaches us truth. Can you think of a better reason for reading the Bible? John 8:31,32 tells us, “If we continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Dear friends, we are responsible to receive God’s life giving truth into our heart. Here is God’s promise to all who will live by the unchanging eternal words of God: “And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.” Galatians 6:9,10 This promise is essential in believing that God will bring about the good things we desperately need. The pressures today are immense but God’s encouragement is available right now. As we move toward God in our lives, he embraces us and gives us the crucial help and backing we need to take the next step of faith. Truly happy are the people who experience the love and favor that comes when we walk with God all the way.
