Freedom Through Truth

Did you know that at this very moment we are responsible before God for the decisions we make? God calls us to accountability for how we choose to live our life.  For every person has been born with the knowledge of God.  “…men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power.  So they will have no excuse when they stand before God at Judgement Day.”  Romans 1:20

Could it be that one of the greatest sins of all is not taking personal responsibility?  In Galatians chapter five we learn that if an individual sows to please himself and his own wrong desires he will reap the consequences of  moral and spiritual death.  Everyone who comes to the Almighty God can through Jesus Christ experience complete deliverance from destructive patterns.  As we turn in submission to the enabling help of God’s Spirit we are rewarded for our good choices.

We have profound responsibility as human beings to believe what is true.  Romans 1:25 says, “Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies.” It is God’s word that teaches us truth.  Can you think of a better reason for reading the Bible?  John 8:31,32 tells us, “If we continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Dear friends, we are responsible to receive God’s life giving truth into our heart.  Here is God’s promise to all who will live by the unchanging eternal words of God: “And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.” Galatians 6:9,10  This promise is essential in believing that God will bring about the good things we desperately need.  The pressures today are immense but God’s encouragement is available right now.  As we move toward God in our lives, he embraces us and gives us the crucial help and backing we need to take the next step of faith.  Truly happy are the people who experience the love and favor that comes when we walk with God all the way.

Run to Jesus

untitled 12

Dear Christian, why did we pick Jesus above all?  Have we considered the benefits of God’s love?  Without him people diminish and decrease in their ability to cope and to love others.  God is love.  That’s straightforward and true for everyone.  We plug into the greatest power source known to man when we accept his love.  This world is not capable of providing real and lasting happiness for the human heart.  This kind of deep happiness comes from an intimate, working friendship with Jesus.  “…and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how high his love really is, and to experience this love for yourselves…”  Ephesians 3:18,19

The happiness found in Jesus cannot be suppressed by earthly circumstances.  We desperately needed someone to love us first, to show us how to love.  “We know how much God loves us because we have felt his love and because we believe him when he tells us that he loves us dearly.” 1 John 4:16  Such wonderful love opens our hearts to him. “So you see, our love for him comes as a result of his loving us first.”  1 John 4:19   Loving God is the natural response to our Savior’s love for us.  “We know what real love is from Christ’s example in dying for us.”  1 John 3:16

Because of Jesus’ overwhelming love for us he is our obvious choice to worship and adore.  His love is enduring for, “in him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28   “The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved- loved for ourselves, or greater, loved in spite of ourselves.”  Victor Hugo   The love of Jesus draws us, holds us, and love keeps us close to his beating heart.  Let Jesus wrap you in his arms till all the storms pass by.  “In his love and pity he redeemed them and lifted them up and carried them through all the years.”  Isaiah 63:9   Friends, run to this love, run as fast as you can.  Words can not adequately express his amazing love.  We are forever changed.

Dare to Stand Out- Dare to be Different

images

Often as believers we find ourselves conforming to the world around us.  This world without Christ has its own art, music, religion, entertainment, thought patterns and lifestyles.  Jesus died to free us from this broken system and give us a brand new life filled with that which is good, pleasing, and perfect.  This life is found through living His will.  As we seek to know His will we will experience direct guidance from God.  His plan is to stand out, to be proud of our differences.  The greatest challenge of daring to be different is having the courage to be holy.

God’s purpose for ever believer is to be holy.  “…be a living sacrifice, holy- the kind we can accept.  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think.”  Roman 12:1,2   This is the transformation that conforms us to be like the all powerful God who loves us best.  Our daily walk in holiness shows that we love Him and understand that His ways are greater, surpassing the best any human could offer. Samuel Lucas states, “The essence of true holiness consists in conformity to the nature and will of God.”

We live for Jesus because in believing who He is we receive what He did.  What an amazing salvation to be delivered from darkness and death.  1 Peter 1:19 reminds us, “But he paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless lamb of God.” Jesus the miraculous God-Man walked this earth and became acquainted with our needs, our hurts and our longings.  He became our pearl of great price.  “…when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that the had, and bought it.”  Matthew 13:4   We have a hope of such magnitude and significance that we will grow to not only love Jesus with all our heart but to become like Him.  To have Jesus is to have holiness.   Dear Christian, encourage your heart in the mighty God who can and will help us to be consecrated followers of Jesus.  Dare to stand out, dare to be different, and dare to answer the call to be God’s own holy, set apart people.

The Undecided

th

Dear Christian do you profess a new birth but live the old life?  Then you are among the ranks of the wavering, the undecided.  While the undecided believer continues to live inconsistently using earthly reasoning, those who decide to live by the Holy Spirit’s power and enabling see the difference between man’s wisdom and God’s wisdom.

In order to make a full commitment and enjoy the benefits of friendship with the Holy Spirit we must surrender all unforgiveness, lifestyle sin and our sense of entitlement.   One of the problems of indecision is that it limits the wisdom we can receive.  We often need good counsel yet our lack of trust misleads us.  Let us be careful to seek advice from those who are experiencing God through their daily life.  “The Kingdom of God is not just talking, it is living by God’s power.” 1 Cor 4:20.  We should not be one who hinders what God wants to give us through our lack of devotion.  “And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world’s spirit) to tell us about the wonderful free gifts of grace and blessing that God has given us.”  1 Cor 2:12   Sadly, man’s pride creates a barrier from being able to daily experience companionship with the Father.  Listen to what 1 Cor 3:18,19 has to say.  “Stop fooling yourselves.  If you count yourself above average in intelligence as judged by this world’s standards, you had better put this all aside and be a fool rather than let it hold you back from the true wisdom from above.  For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God.  As it says in the book of Job, God uses man’s own brilliance to trap him; he stumbles over his own ‘wisdom’ and falls.  And again, in the book of Psalms, we are told that the Lord knows full well how the human mind reasons, and how foolish and futile it is.”

Friends, Christianity empowered by the Holy Spirit, is not just our profession of faith but our reality.  “If we are living now by the Holy Spirit’s power, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.” Gal 5:25   This is the true wisdom from above.  God is offering you the opportunity of a lifetime to live with confidence and security.  Don’t sell yourself short!  Today you can be among the rejoicing saints who have decided to live with consistency through God’s superior power and wisdom.
